AstroSeer is based on the wisdom of Vedic astrology (Jyotish) - an ancient Indian system that uses the sidereal zodiac, which reflects the actual positions of the planets against the background of the star constellations. In contrast, Western astrology uses the tropical zodiac, which is tied to the seasons and conventionally begins counting from the vernal equinox (around March 21), regardless of the actual position of the stars.
This leads to the fact that in Vedic astrology the Sun and other planets often end up in a different sign than in the Western system. For example, a person who considers himself a Leo in the Western system may be a Cancer in the Vedic system.
In addition, Jyotish:
- Focuses on the Moon sign (not the Sun), since the Moon reflects the psycho-emotional nature of a person and the rhythms of his life.
- Uses the lagna (ascending sign) as a key factor for forecasts.
- Analyzes planetary periods (dashas) - a unique system showing when and what events are most likely to happen in life.
- Includes a karmic approach - it is believed that the natal chart reflects the lessons, tasks and consequences of actions from past incarnations.
Thus, Vedic astrology more accurately reflects the current life circumstances, internal state and karma of a person. It is more deeply focused on self-development, awareness and harmony with natural cycles.
The application does not replace consultations with a doctor or psychologist. All recommendations are based on classical sources: Jyotish, Charaka Samhita, Swapna Shastra, as well as modern data from PubMed and NCBI.
